Scouts
62nd Belfast Scouts meet weekly on a Friday evening from 7.30pm – 9.30pm for boys and girls aged 10½ to 14yrs in the Halls complex at Newtownbreda. Scouting is about developing young people as good citizens with a range of skills and values that contribute to the society in which they live and beyond. The scouting programmes offers a range of activities that encompass issues such as the environment, social concerns, faith, health, personal development and teamwork skills.
Scouts are challenged to examine their role as good citizens through badge work as well as participation in games, activities and nights out as part of the Troop programme. A key part of any Scouts development is the camping experience where skills are developed within a teamwork setting and basic survival skills are developed from camping under canvas to cooking on an open fire without utensils.
