ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tea & Coffee
Yasmin Uprichard will be serving tea and coffee after morning worship today in aid of her Ulster Project Team as they head to Arlington Texas at the end of June.
Newtownbreda PC Pizza Nights
We’re pleased to be hosting our Pizza Nights for Summer 2024.
The dates are: 12th & 26th June, 10th & 26th July, and 7th & 21st August: between 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
This is an open invitation for members, friends, family and the entire community to come together to share food, chat and companionship, so please share these dates with your friends, family and neighbours.
It’s a major operation to host these events, requiring a lot of volunteers. In particular, we’d like our volunteers to be able to rotate over 1 or 2 shifts so they can also share in the chat and food, but that requires even more volunteers. You need no skills and you don’t even have to like pizza: just a smile and willingness to do simple catering and hosting tasks. Individual shifts run from 4- 5.15pm, 5.30- 6.30pm and 6.30 -8.15pm
Please speak to either Marjorie Guiler, Allison Meek or Debbie Eve to discuss what dates you can volunteer for.
Strollers
13th June – The Lough Money Loop – 7 p.m. start.
DIRECTIONS: Go to Downpatrick and on out to Ballyalton village (BT30 7BY). We will rendezvous there ( tiny village) before going on to Lough Money car park. The Lough Money Loop (3.5km) is a section of the Lecale Way. GRADE: A variety of uneven paths and grassy tracks including a steady 0.6km uphill climb. Sturdy footwear required!
If you are able and willing to car share, please text or talk to Christine 07742 576 995.
Congregational Committee
The Congregational Committee will meet at 7.45 pm in the Megaw Room on Tuesday 25 June.
Holiday Bible Club – Volunteers needed
We hope to run Holiday our Bible Club from 1st – 5th July from 9.45am to 12noon and we need volunteers. There will be plenty of jobs to do – registration, organising snacks/juice, setting up for games or crafts, helping with a small group of children. If you would be willing to help for the full week or even just for 1 day, please speak to Sandy or Allison.
Art Exhibition & Sale 20-22 June
We haven’t held an Art Exhibition for a few years but we’ve already had a lot of interest in this year’s show. We’ve received 340 entries from over 100 artists and hope that this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.
Come along to our Preview Evening on Wednesday 19 June, from 7.00 – 9.00 pm. Drinks and canapés will be served prior to the official opening of the exhibition by Rev. Paul Lutton at 7.30 pm. Paintings will be available for purchase after the opening. Get your ticket for this (price £7.50, to include a catalogue and refreshments) from Marj or Clare after church today and next week.
The Exhibition and Sale will be open to the public on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 from 10.30 am -8.30 pm and on Saturday 22 from 10.30 am – 3.00 pm. Paintings which have been purchased may be collected after 4.00 pm on Saturday. The entrance fee is £5, which includes a catalogue and light refreshments. Do come along and bring your friends.
Volunteers needed This is a popular congregational and community event and fund raiser. To make this a success, we need a lot of helpers to fill a lot of different roles. Please consider giving 2-3 hours of your time to contribute towards what is a very enjoyable occasion. The tasks include: receiving in the artwork; constructing the stands; hanging the paintings; providing flowers, music for the hall; welcoming, catering for and serving guests at the opening night; stewarding the hall during opening hours; serving tea and coffee to visitors; taking down the paintings; paying the artists if they have sold paintings or returning their unsold paintings to them……
Please consider being a volunteer to support this event and speak to Clare Pollock today.
If you would like to have a notice included in the announcement sheet, please email NewtownbredaAnnouncements@outlook.com
Please try to send your announcements to us by the Thursday prior to the Sunday service.
