BIG SING at Knockbreda Community Wildlife Garden
Saturday 5 April 6.00 -7.00pm. A very informal sing-along in the Garden, supported by some members from Ormeau Community Ukelele group, followed by tea/coffee. Free entry, but donations will go to the Trocaire Lenten appeal through St.Bernadette’s. The Garden is just beside Cornerstone Methodist Church (formerly Knockbreda Methodist) at 66 Rosetta Road – come for an evening of fun in a lovely setting, especially if you haven’t been to the Garden before.
KOINONIA OUTING
Our outing on Thursday 10 April to Killyleagh Castle, one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland, provides a great opportunity to see around a building of significant historical interest. We will meet in Killyleagh at 10.30 am and be shown round by the owner.
Please note that the Castle has many steps and includes some steep stairs with no handrails so will not suit those with mobility issues. You are of course still welcome to meet us for a lunch in Killyleagh village after the Castle tour.
The cost of £30 includes the tour and a 2-course lunch afterwards in the Smugglers’ Table, a local restaurant.
Please see Marjorie or Hazel if you would like to go.
CHRISTIAN AID
Pre-Loved Pictures and Wall Art Fundraiser Sale and coffee morning Saturday 12 April 10 am to 1 pm. Come along and enjoy a cuppa and catch up with friends and family. Donate your old pictures and take the opportunity to purchase some new ones.
If you have anything to donate, please contact Jennifer Cairnduff on 07889395132.
GARDENING and care of Church grounds
If you are prepared to help with keeping the Church grounds neat and tidy over the summer months by coming along for a couple of hours on 2 or 3 evenings (usually Mondays but depends on the weather) between April and September, please speak to William Francey or contact him on 07577 605747.
We have a small team of loyal gardeners but since the average age of our current team is 70+ we could use additional volunteers. You don’t have to be Monty Don or have any special expertise – the ability to walk behind a lawnmower or pull some weeds is all that is required.
VOLUNTEERS for Holiday Bible Club 2025 Holiday
We’re looking for volunteers to help us at our Holiday Bible Club 2025. It will run 1st – 4th July from 9.30-12 noon. There are lots of different tasks, so there will be something for everyone who wants to join the team.

RAINBOWS COFFEE – Thanks
19th Belfast Rainbows would like to thank everyone who supported them last Sunday when they served refreshments after church. A fantastic sum of £230 was raised. For their sponsored event, the girls learned a dance to the song ‘Chihuahua’. They did a fantastic job! All monies raised will be presented to a representative from the Dog’s Trust at Rainbows on 12 April.
If you would like to have a notice included in the announcement sheet, please email NewtownbredaAnnouncements@outlook.com
Please try to send your announcements to us by the Thursday prior to the Sunday service.
