Ormeau Churches Together team all aboard and heading off for Uganda.
The team have safely arrived in Entebbe and all the bags too. Thankful for God's care of us on the journey.
Bags going through the windows to be loaded on to the bus!!
Our home for this evening before our 6 hour drive to Mbarara tomorrow
Breakfast on the veranda (at 6:45!) before we head off to Mbarara
Pit stop halfway on our journey. Just on the equator.
Some of the ladies finishing off some sewing!
The bags now all unpacked, sorted and repacked, ready to go to the school tomorrow. A slightly tighter squeeze as the second bus has returned to Kampala! Pray that the luggage (& the team!) will all fit and travel safely to Bethel tomorrow.
The sewing machines have arrived with us! We are glad to have them for our work with the community in Bethel.
We received a fantastic and very humbling welcome from the Bethel community this morning. We made the service at 11am and it finished at 1pm. Each congregation received a Ugandan flag from Pastor Joseph.
The view from the church looking across the valley with the school we will be working in at the bottom.
Some of our new friends enjoyed getting selfies!
Due to an early start and busy first day we've only a few pictures to share. Some shots of ladies from the community working on the sewing machines. They were all very excited to use them. The 'I am Girl' team were pleasantly surprised to discover a good number of the girls could sew already which should make the next few days go more smoothly.
Bruce and Janet helped Deborah prep for the first nursery craft tomorrow - this is just enough for one of the three sittings there will be. Please pray for the team as they continue to work with the teachers to share more fun, exciting and interesting activities tomorrow.
Continuing to have a great time in Uganda. Kids are fabulous and so excited by everything. Very heartwarming.
More fun and games at Bethel on Thursday. Sewing, games, craft, singing & holiday bible club continue to make great progress.
The last full day at Bethel.
Celebration day at Bethel. Full of laughter and smiles as we recognised the achievements and experiences of the children.
Finally on the way home! A final stop for some shopping in a craft market in Kampala and a bite of lunch.
Two flights later the team have arrived safely in Dublin. Now to collect bags and make the final journey home.
