The 62nd Belfast Explorers

62nd Belfast Explorers @ Newtownbreda is open to anyone, both male and female from the age of 14 years to 18 years. There is no need for any previous experience or background in Scouting or guiding.

Explorers meet every Friday evening at 7:30pm in the Scout Den at the back of the Church Hall. We join with the 62nd Scouts for a few activities, however, the programme is mostly organised by the explorer leaders and explorers themselves. The programme can be viewed by following the link

We have a varied programme, ensuring that we are equipping the explorers with a range of skills -  Leadership, teamwork and communication to name a few.

At 62nd Explorers, there is an emphasis of the Programme to be fun, challenging, service to community and adventure. Within the programme, we run the Young Leaders Programme - giving the explorers an opportunity to develop leadership and giving back to the younger sections.

For those that like challenges, we assist the explorers on working towards their Cheif Scout’s Awards and Queen’s Scout Award. (These awards are very similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, normally complementing themselves).
