This group is open to any women in the congregation.
Asante is the new name of the group formally known as The Young Women’s Group. For several years we have been looking to rename our group and while away in Donegal for a weekend in May we adopted Asante as our new name. It is the Swahili word for thankful and that is what we are. Thankful for the many years that we grown together within the family of our church. Thankful for the fellowship and love that has been shared. Thankful for the support and friendship given and received over the years. We plan to continue to meet six times a year from October to March with an outing in May and BBQ in June.
We meet once a month on the first Tuesday of the month in the Cairns Room at 8pm. We start in October and have organised a programme until the end of June.
The aims of the group are to extend fellowship, friendship and support to all the members. To provide a wide ranging and varied programme this can range from talks by missionaries and other people who contribute in any way to the Church to craft activities and visits to places of interest.
Anyone interested in coming along would be made most welcome.
